I love hearing, absorbing, and reflecting on truth. I took lots of notes but as frequently happens in my life, I can only hold about 2 or 3 things in my mind at any one point in time. Here are my two take-aways from Pastor Dan’s sermon.
• God became a man but he is not a man. When it comes to God, we do not know what we are talking about. This is so true.
• Fix your eyes on Jesus. Our present sufferings are nothing compared to the glory that will be revealed in us. Jesus is my example. The sufferings I endure in this life are worth it. Jesus is the author and the perfecter of my “story.” This is so reassuring because my life (like so many others) is full of entanglements, pitfalls, sins, and all the rest! So, for me to know that I can run my life’s course and stay faithful to the best of my ability and really have confidence that He will make everything turn out all right in the end is soooooooo wonderful! On one level, I can cease from constantly “striving” and rest in Him knowing He will make all things work together for my benefit. What a relief!!
