We can certainly appreciate the Lord’s invitation to call upon Him in trouble, but is that all we want Him to be to us, a troubleshooter? Are we satisfied with Him only being a celestial repairman, or is He offering us more than that? David described God as his “exceeding joy.” Whatever joy we derive from earthly pleasures God is able to enhance them and exceed them.
I am not suggesting we minimize God’s availability as an ever-present help in time of trouble, because there is much in life that is troubling and for which we need His help. And for which He offers His help. But the opportunities in our relationship with Him extend beyond Him being a fixer to One in whom there are “pleasures forever.”
Something to take just a moment to consider today.

Thank you, Pastor Dan. As a young woman, I still had a relationship with God. As I sought after what I thought was good, my relationship woild change to a transactional. I will do this for you if you will fix that for me. The amazing thing about God is that, he accepted me where I was and put in a deeper desire for his way of doing things. He was getting results because he had a the answers. He showed me I could have them, too. They were all in his word. He wooed me into wanting to spend time with him. In that time spent, I felt his love, his peace, his gentle instruction, and his favor. While I know God loves all, he makes special to him and he special to me.
So grateful to God for you! Praying for you, Lavern, Falomi, and Major. 😊👍🏼💗
