For many of us, the weekend feels like a doorway. We step through it, stretch, and breathe a little deeper. The pace eases. The shoulders drop. Life loosens its grip just enough for us to remember what rest feels like.
In a similar way, Christ offers us rest. But His rest has a different name; it’s called grace. He extends the invitation with these words: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
This is not the kind of rest you get from a nap or a quiet afternoon; it is a supernatural rest. A rest that flows from relationship with Him and finds the exact places where we’re frayed. A rest that strengthens the heart and lifts the spirit. A rest that restores what life has drained. A rest that brings peace between us and God.
The rest Christ offers isn’t tied to a calendar. It doesn’t wait for Friday. It doesn’t expire on Monday. It’s not a brief intermission. It’s a gift for this moment… and for all eternity.
Something worth taking just a moment to consider today.
