Just a Moment with Pastor Dan Baty

May 22, 2026 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

Thank the Lord for being with us. I mean, truly with us. At all times. Because the truth of the matter is, we can barely be with ourselves all the time. We need a break from our own thoughts, our own problems, our own personal issues. That’s why we escape into diversions – anything to get a moment’s relief from the noise inside our own heads.

And yet, even when we check out on ourselves, the Lord remains mindful of us. All of us. Constantly. That’s stunning to consider. Every thought, every motive, every flinch, every sigh – He sees and hears it all.

And amazingly, that’s His choice. It doesn’t automatically come bundled with His omniscience. Because just as He has chosen not to remember our sins, He could just as easily choose not to remember us – at least for a while. He could decide He needs a vacation from all our issues and “step out for a moment” the way we do.

But He doesn’t. And He won’t. He remains mindful of us – not in a passive, distant way, but in an “I’ll never leave you or forsake you” active, shaping, refining way. Always at work in us to enrich our faith, court our hearts, and tune our spirits to the glorious riches of our relationship with Him through Christ.

And that steady, intentional, unshakable mindfulness – toward all of us at all times – is worth taking just a moment to consider today. And pausing to thank Him for.
