There are times when life feels like a rickety bridge over a rocky chasm on a gusty day, connecting the shifting present to a shaky future.
But even though that is how it feels, I believe I am here today only because God has either calmed the winds or held me steady when that bridge rocks, wobbles and tilts. I am secure not because I can control the winds, fortify the bridge or guarantee the future, but because of the One who walks with me.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
