Like physical muscles, faith requires exercise to avoid becoming ‘flabby’—lacking energy and vitality. A poorly conditioned “faith” doesn’t cause God to love us any less, but it may hinder us from recognizing and experiencing Him as vividly as we could.
But unlike our physical bodies, firming up our faith doesn’t require a gym membership but rather a commitment to the “Just Keep Living” faith-building program presented to us by the normal events of our lives. Each day offers us many opportunities to lift our voices in praise and thanksgiving, to stretch our arms to heaven in prayer, and to run with endurance the race marked before us, with our eyes fixed on Jesus, not our Peloton instructor. And then, to rest and recover in His peace.
The results of the Just Keep Living fitness faith-building program is a healthy spiritual life consisting primarily of a marvelous relationship with the Author and Perfector of our faith.
