The summit of Mount Everest – at about 29,032 feet (8,849 meters) – is the highest point on Earth a human being can climb to on foot.
At the summit of the highest expression of God’s love for mankind is not a flag but a cross (Romans 5:8), marking what Christ accomplished for us. Nothing else tops it. Nothing surpasses it.
Jesus stands beside that cross, inviting us to draw nearer, to more fully experience His love and to see our lives from that vantage point. It’s different up there.
But the good news is unlike Everest, this ascent doesn’t require oxygen tanks, crampons (those spikes on their boots), or a passport. The terrain is our everyday lives, and our Sherpa is the Holy Spirit – walking with us, carrying what we can’t, guiding us through places we could never navigate alone.
And the best part is, you don’t have to leave the place you’re reading this. The climb takes place in the heart.
