    Text Passage: 1 Peter 3:8-15 (NASB77) 14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled, 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence;

    Main Idea: Your story is a God-authored original.

    God has given you a story.  It’s a story that belongs to no one else on this planet.  No one living or dead.  It’s yours alone.  It’s an eternal story.

    It’s important to know your story.

    We see this demonstrated in the life of Paul the apostle.  You can read about it in Acts 26.

    It’s not how much you say or how eloquent of speech you are or how vast your knowledge is. It’s the personal truth it has for you.

    John 9:25 (NIV)  “I was blind but now I see!”

    John 4:29 (NIV) 29 “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did.”

    Your story may involve telling them what happened to you to turn you into a believer, or it may be about what has happened to you as a believer. Or it can be both.

    Who is Jesus to you now!  What is your personal experience of Him now?  Why do you follow Him now?

    People Need the Lord!

    The Scripture tells us that we were at one time without God, without hope in the world.  That was our pre-Christ days.  We are never without hope again.  In chapter 1 of this letter Peter reminds these believers that they have been born again to a living hope.

    Our living hope is Jesus, who does not change.
