Text Passages: Acts 17:24-28; Colossians 1:15-17
Main Idea: The Creator is still Creating Through Us.
From Friday’s Just a Moment, (See Blog Post at Valleybrook.church)
God’s work in creation is deliberate and ongoing.
- We are not chance occurrences on this earth. The Lord chose the time and the place for each of us to be born. We are all products of the craftsmanship of our Creator.
- That same creative force and imagination is at work in us and in the smallest details of our lives. Jesus put it like this: even the hairs on your head are numbered.
- Just as nature creates an effect, trees produce oxygen, clouds produce rain, the sun produces warmth. God is creating effects upon the earth through us.
- We may not always be aware of or intentional about those effects. But we belong to Him and He is working in us and through us.
- And the end game is, according to the Scriptures, Ephesians 1:10 (NASB77) 10 the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth.”
- Our text passage from Acts says God’s purpose is to appeal to people to reach out to Him and to seek Him. In the end its all going to be about Jesus.
[Testimony]
What did I learn from this amazing episode?
- God is at work in people.
- We can’t judge a book by its cover.
- God is not restricted by our plans.
- God set up the appointment within my plans and intentions.
- God uses us in our imperfection.
- God uses imperfect people because those are the only kind there are.
- 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 (NIV) “God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise…”
- Paul’s point is God doesn’t choose us or use us because we are “something” but because His grace is just that awesome.
- And “more” and “bigger” is not better to God.
- God is Still THE Creator.
- How creative He must be to cause all things to work together for our good.
- Regardless of our present circumstances, we have been included in the Caravan of those who have gone before us into glory. It is now our blessing to be those whom the Lord is using to continue the work He began before the world began and has continued throughout the millennia.
