Ah, life! It is such a glorious and dynamic affair.
In my walk with the Lord, I have discovered that He does not intend to be a replacement or substitute for my earthly experiences, relationships, and responsibilities. He wants me to enjoy the ball game, take dance classes, grow in my career, enjoy being in love, eat good food, laugh heartily, deal with problems, have hobbies, do charity work, and fully engage with life.
For me, life in Christ is an equation of addition by enlightenment. He wants me to see the “more” of life that is possible in Him. He offers more to me than work, play, and diversions. He wants me to enjoy Him and experience the fullness of life that knowing Him brings. To see His beauty that goes beyond the physical world. To experience His love that surpasses all others. He is helping me view all the events of my life—pleasant and challenging—not as ends in themselves, but as opportunities to develop a more intimate and trusting relationship with Him.
Are you aware of His invitations? How do you respond to them?
As I process the offerings of each day through prayer, thanksgiving, praise, the Scriptures, and godly support from others, I experience His affection and care on a deeper level. I see all the twisting roads of life as pathways to connection with Him, and all life events as tools that help me understand and trust in His wonderful attributes.
This perspective of my brief time on earth connects me to my ultimate purpose: a loving and fruit-bearing relationship with my Creator through Jesus Christ, which is the essence of the abundant life Jesus promised us.
