The View from My Place – “Foolproof”

November 9, 2022 By Dan Baty 1 Comment

God’s love is foolproof.  That means His love for me is not based on a false impression of me. It’s not based on my “presentation.”  He doesn’t just see the shiny side of the apple I offer to Him; He also sees the bruises and the worm inside.

“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13). Instead of regarding this as an ominous threat or warning, I receive it as a blessing of comfort and peace.  Comfort because I can relax and be where I am in His presence.  Peace because my “account” has been paid in full and forever by the blood of Jesus Christ.

He knows the “uncovered and laid bare” me, and that is the “me” that He really loves. He knows all my secrets.  His love is stronger than my secret doubts. His love is deeper than my secret fears. His love is more stubborn than my secret habits. His love is more enduring than my chronic forgetfulness.  His love is more transforming than my efforts to change myself.  Best of all, it is foolproof, which means it can be fully trusted.

Hallelujah, what a fantastic Savior is Jesus.

And how wonderful, He delights in us.

    Thank You Pastor.
