Simply out of curiosity, I “googled” a query about what was the largest cast ever assembled for a film. The answer is Ghandi, the 1982 movie that won 8 Academy Awards.
Filmed before there was CGI technology, and including extras, there were more than 300,000 people who played a role in the film.
Then I thought about how privileged we all are to be part of God’s production called Jesus. It is a glorious and fascinating love story, an ongoing project that began before the creation of the world and continues today. It is an epic production that features a cast of millions upon millions upon millions.
In Jesus, there are no extras; each of us plays a critical role, no matter how small it may appear and no matter how much screen time we have.
It is not for entertainment purposes only; it has eternal significance for every person. For, unlike Ghandi, it is not about a dead hero, but about One who died and rose from the dead and now offers eternal life to all who trust in Him.
In God’s production, Jesus alone is the Star. And I consider it a privilege just to be on the “lot” with Him.
