“Would your faith be as strong as it is if_____________ happened to you?”
I don’t like questions that begin this way. Why deal with hypothetical situations? I believe God’s grace will be sufficient for whatever is required of me in whatever may be in my future, just as it has been in my past. So I don’t have to live there until I arrive. And besides, the Lord expressly instructed us “Do not worry about tomorrow.”
However, the best preparation for my future is the ever-increasing value to me of my relationship with the Lord, and the daily, deepening conviction “that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
Investing in appreciating what we have in Him will yield security for whatever future awaits us.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
