When I pray, it is not a religious ritual, an effort to align with the Universe, or a meditative chant for inner peace. Prayer, for me, is a deeply personal conversation with the living Christ—the same Christ who rose from the dead and appeared to many over 40 days afterward. I believe that this very Jesus is alive today, as real and present as any person I know. When I pray, I am not practicing religion; I am engaging in a genuine relationship.
Based on the evidence, I accept the Resurrection as a historical fact; it is the cornerstone of my faith in God. If Jesus truly conquered death, it stands to reason that He transcends human limitations. For me, this answers a common question: Even if Jesus is alive, how can He possibly hear my voice amid the countless prayers offered daily? The answer lies in who He is. His resurrection proves He is not merely human, but the Son of the Living God, whose Spirit fills all of heaven and earth—moving like the wind, invisible yet undeniable. This is the Christ I pray to: not a distant figure of history, but the risen Savior who is alive, present, attentive, and caring for me in every moment of my life.
Sometimes, the formalities, ceremonial attire, traditions, and rituals of Christianity can overshadow its simple, incredible truth: Jesus Christ, who was dead, is alive. He hears us. He’s working in our lives. He loves us endlessly. And He’s right here, present and active in the world today. My prayer is that you would experience His aliveness today; it influences everything.
