*In August I take a break from some deadlines but not from my relationship with the Lord, so I still reserve the right to share His goodness with my friends and family.
A reminder for my believing friends… The nagging hunger within to be part of the oft expressed “something bigger than yourself” will never be *fully* satisfied in this life because, according to the Scriptures, it is connected to our longing for our eternal home (see 2 Corinthians 5:2).
However, to the extent it can be fulfilled in this life, we are already part of that “something.” We can drop our luggage right where we are and never board another vessel in search of it, for it is found in our relationship with Jesus Christ. Each one of us is part of His universal body, included in His eternal purposes and uniquely formed and fitted for specific assignments. Every prayer has divine effect. Every faith-driven action creates a divine result. Every noble longing within us is felt in the very heart of God. Everything we give for Him is not “spent,” but is safely invested and will yield a splendid return in this life and/or the next. Every keystroke of faith is recorded in the eternal records of heaven. And the only “bigger-than-yourself” thing on earth great enough to last forever is that which is done for Christ.
