“Jesus said to [Peter], ‘If I want [John] to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!'” (John 21:22). Such a powerful and liberating statement from Jesus. It speaks to the value the Lord places on each one of us. Yes, it is a gentle reprimand of Peter for comparing his mission to John’s, but it was also a correction intended to bless Peter with a reminder of Peter’s own unique gifts and purpose.
In these difficult times of collective action, it is wise for us to spend personal time with the Lord listening for His instruction for each of us individually. For the Lord has chosen you specifically to be part of His team and His plans in this dynamic time of challenge and change.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
