What is the confidence in the Lord that I seek? “Then Jesus looked up and said, ‘Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew that You always hear Me…'” (John 11:41-42). That’s what I’m talking about. That’s the confidence I want today. The “You always hear me” confidence.
Prayer is not merely a spiritual discipline, or a ritual, or a meditation device. It does not release or attract mystical powers like a magic incantation. Prayer is direct and personal communication with the living God who hears us. Who always hears us, who “rewards those who earnestly seek Him,” (Hebrews 11:6) and “acts on behalf of those who wait for Him” (Isaiah 64:4). This is the confidence we can have every time our hearts seek Him.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
