It is a good thing to prayerfully seek the Lord’s attention. But it is also good to “be still before the LORD and wait patiently for Him” (Psalm 37:7) and give Him our attention.
When you give Him your attention, do so without conditions or expectations. Consider it a gift you have given to Him to do with it as He pleases. He may flood your mind with His thoughts, move your spirit with His touch or He may receive your attention with silent pleasure, as two friends just enjoying each other’s presence. But whether there are any noticeable spiritual effects, and despite any mental distractions that may enter your waiting time, know He is with you and is delighted by your patient faith and your desire to draw near to Him.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
