When was the last time you thanked God for your mind? It is an astonishing gift. It allows you to like the things you like, to love the people you love and to do the things you like to do. Your mind makes you “you,” and also allows you to make modifications. Indeed, the miracle of the mind is a subject that is practically inexhaustible.
As a believer, you have the supernatural bonus of having “the mind of Christ” (1 Corinthians 2:16). That means through the Holy Spirit you are given an orientation to life that is based on the values of heaven, even though you are surrounded by the opposing values of the world. This is what allows us to enjoy portions of heaven right here on earth.
Like the rest of your natural person, your mind will not remain as it is for the rest of your life on earth. For it too is subject to the powers of aging. But for how it has served you over the years and for what it is today, that even allows you to understand these few words I have written about it, the Lord deserves your thanks.
