Just a Moment with Pastor Dan Baty
Prayer involves taking advantage of the Lord’s attention, but it also means giving Him ours. “He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple” (Isaiah 50:4). When we give Him our attention, let us remember it now belongs to Him. It is His to do with as He pleases. We do not get to determine how He uses what we have given to Him. He may instruct us. He may remind us. He may just move us. Or He may just enjoy the silence with us. Ours is to give and to listen; His is to receive and respond. It is the faith behind giving Him our attention that delights Him, regardless of the effects.
