…that we might bear fruit for God (Romans 7:4).
Each of us has been called to bear fruit for God as a product of our fellowship with Him. It is important that we remember it is fruit for God! Therefore, it is God’s fruit to use as He pleases. It is not for us to decide how it is to be used.
It is like if you went to the store and bought a bag of cherries. They are your cherries to do with as you please. You can enjoy them all by yourself. You can share them with family and a few friends. Or, you can offer to have them set on a large buffet. In the same way, the Lord can share His fruit with as many or as few as He pleases.
Every person on earth is as valuable to the Lord as a multitude. It is no less important to Him to use the fruit from one of His people to care for one individual for an entire lifetime than if He uses the fruit to evangelize millions. Unlike the assessment of the world, in His eyes “Bigger” is not better. “More” is not greater. And “impressive” is not necessarily glorious.
Therefore, let us neither resist nor press when it comes to having an effect for Him. Instead, let us present ourselves to Him each day realizing the fruit we bear belongs to Him.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
