A good friend recently posted a quote by a beloved and respected Christian leader about Christians either choosing to align themselves with the will of God or “capitulate to the principle that governs the rest of the world.” The following was my response.
“I fully agree those are ultimately always the two choices before us, and yet, I find there is a blessing of fellowship with the Holy Spirit in the process of getting aligned. Of pouring out my heart with Him. Of not just “doing” but “becoming.” Of not just “going there” but “growing there.” Not just repressing worldliness but embracing my true identity. Of not just trying to live a better Christian life but pursuing getting to know Christ better.”
I have chosen to make abiding in Christ my primary focus and let the bearing of fruit (i.e. a godly life) be the result.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
