“God is… a very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46:1).
We don’t want trouble in any areas of our lives, family, finances, job or health – and for good reason; with trouble comes anxiety and other painful consequences. But even though we try our best to avoid trouble, it often finds us. It is then we can remember God is in trouble, too.
If “Trouble” were a place, it would be one of God’s hangouts. He is “in” Trouble the way a fireman is at a fire, or the way a surgeon is in the emergency room, or the way the Coast Guard is in a hurricane, or The Red Cross in its aftermath. He is in Trouble to protect, to rescue, to serve and to comfort. Multitudes have met God in Trouble. And for many of us, that has been where His glory, grace and love have been most apparent.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
