When I was young, my life was dedicated to the Cause of Christ. It is part of the DNA of youth to want to change the world. But now I realize the Cause, though of great importance, was ultimately a means to a deeper relationship with Christ, as are all the events of life.
The Lord has not called us to do for Him but to do with Him. “I am with you” is a promise from God that spans throughout the Scripture. And He wants us with Him so we can get to know Him and grow closer to Him, not because He needs our help. After all, there is nothing we can “do” for God that He can’t do better for Himself. But there is something we can give to Him that He can neither give to Himself nor get from any other place, and that is our personal and unique adoration and trust as we walk and work with Him today.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
