It all goes back to the cross! Everything we love about our life in Christ: the forgiveness of our sins, who He is to us, who we are to Him, the fellowship we enjoy with His people, our eternal inheritance reserved in heaven for us, the special “awareness gifts” and “heart touches” from Him, the insights and reminders from His word, the pure joy of knowing that He is, and the eternal companionship of His Spirit within us. All of it goes back to the cross where Jesus paid for all these incomparable benefits with His blood. Indeed, “all this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ…” (2 Corinthians 5:18)
The cross is not just a religious symbol; it is an inventory of the surpassing riches of Christ.
