Just a Moment with Pastor Dan Baty

December 30, 2023 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

As the year began, so it concludes, bookends of the love of God.

“to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge…” (Ephesians 3:19).

Your appetite for intimacy with the Lord, no matter how ravenous or mild, is but a faint and flickering star in the universe of His love for you. Libraries could be filled with the books that could be written to describe His love for you. A multitude of radio stations playing nothing but the songs that could be written about His love could play music around the clock with none repeating a single song. All the words that have been written throughout the ages, all the sermons that have been preached, all the slogans that have been shared on social media and all our most extravagant thoughts and imaginings about God’s love for us could only cover the surface of the earth.

Meanwhile, the reality of His love is it is infinite, because God, the One who has neither beginning nor end, is love. But to know, through experience, the truth of His love beyond mere words and theology, requires the assistance of the Holy Spirit.

Therefore, my prayer is that He grant you the year-end blessing of embracing it with gratefulness and the year-to-come hope of even greater realization of it.

Something to take just a moment to consider today.
