He chose you! He wanted you to be part of His body, part of His family, part of His work and part of His life. He did not overlook you for someone with greater “credentials.” He did not just look beyond your faults and see your need, as the song goes, but He also saw your potential. He saw what He could do with what you are and despite what you are not. He had confidence in Himself. As He thought of the glorious plans He has for your life, He was undaunted by the challenges in your life or in your character. He did so with this view of Himself: “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is anything too difficult for Me?” (Jeremiah 32:27). And that is where He wants our confidence in our potential to rest.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
