LaVern captured me this morning in a heart exchange with the Lord. What was I writing? The following personal psalm.
Thank You, Lord, for blessing me with the beginning of a new month and a fresh opportunity to reap the benefits of trusting in You.
Thank You for this incredible and indescribable life I have in You. A world of wonder and surprises. The heart of it is not “things” or “events” but You. You are the Life. You are my living hope.
Thank You for September 27, 1978, the day I accepted You as my Savior, and for every day thereafter, which You graciously have used to pave the road to my present.
Thank You for allowing me the honor of working with You as You fulfill Your eternal purposes.
None of this offering of thanks has to be “new,” just let it be true.
Thank You for helping me to adore You by revealing more of Yourself, Your wisdom and Your love to me.
I lie on our living room floor in the warmth of the glowing fireplace, with LaVern sitting on the sofa with her healing foot elevated, and I am thankful for my place in the world and for being in it with her. I am thankful for our life together.
It is an understatement to say, “You are the best thing that ever happened to me,” but You are! And beyond that, You are the best thing that ever will or ever could happen to me.
So, I give You my thanks and ask for an “upgrade” from You to overflowing gratitude today. Amen.
(Something to take just a moment to consider today that I pray inspires your own “Psalm of Thanksgiving” whether written, spoken, sung, or simply thought.)
