Just a Moment with Pastor Dan Baty

Philippians 4:6-8 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” This familiar and often-quoted passage of Scripture is packed with spiritual nourishment that can last a lifetime. It contains two absolutes: “nothing” and “everything,” making it relevant to every area of our lives. Technically, there’s nothing more we need to know about how to live an abundant and effective life in Christ here on earth. It offers a practical strategy for navigating life’s ups and downs and promises a supernatural benefit in the process: the surpassing peace of God.

However, we need God’s help to transport that precious truth from our heads to our hearts. He is the One who transforms inspiration into conviction and brings intellectual truth to spiritual life. So, don’t be anxious about not being anxious. Instead, follow the instructions above and wash, rinse, and repeat.

Something to take just a moment to consider today.
