As an investor entrusts his money to a broker, let us entrust to the Lord the precious moments He has allotted to us today, though we do not know their number. Let us ask Him to invest them in commodities of eternal value. Things made of truth. Things made of faith. Things made of love. But most of all, let us ask Him to invest them in whatever will produce the greatest dividend of all: a deeper understanding and knowledge of Himself.
As David observed, “You have put gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and new wine abound” (Psalm 4:7). Life simply doesn’t get any better without Him. Considering other “investment options,” the apostle Peter rhetorically asked, “To whom shall we go?” (John 6:68).
Regardless of setbacks, disappointments and hardships, the testimony of those who truly know Him is life doesn’t get better without Him. He is every man and woman’s best and only hope for “the best.”
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
