Do you long for a closer relationship with the Lord? Take heart, for He desires it even more than you do. Reflect on this: The only thing Jesus had to gain by going to the cross was a relationship with you. What more was there for Him to gain? He already had the love of the Father and the glory of heaven. The joy set before Him was the joy of connection with you.
Therefore, as you seek to know Him better, rest assured that He joyfully receives your requests and is using every event in your life—whether joyful or challenging—to draw you into a closer relationship with Him. Remember, “He is a rewarder of those who seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
