“Doing you” in the sense of embracing our individuality is crucial to our personal growth. We were created to have a distinct impact on the world. However, in our relationships, it’s equally vital to embrace “doing new.” This means adapting to the love needs of others. We cannot remain stagnant, clinging to the same attitudes and habits, and expect to grow in love. So, while affirming each other’s uniqueness (“do you”), let’s also encourage one another to explore the uncharted (“do new”) and to align our growth with the biblical instruction to “let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14). Jesus, our master, exemplified both aspects, and He is eager to teach us as we trust in Him.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
