Just a Moment with Pastor Dan Baty

One of the most reassuring promises in the Bible is found in Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” As someone once quipped for emphasis, “’All’ means ALL, and that is all ‘all’ means!” Indeed, God is working in and through all our life events, circumstances, relationships, and moods.  He is using every aspect of our physical condition, our financial situation, our work environment.  Truly, “all things” for our good.  We have seen Him turn curses into blessing, trials into triumphs, and nighttime weeping into morning joy.  But there is more! The ultimate “good” lies not in our life circumstances, but in the quality of our relationship with Him.  A quality that can inspire us to say with absolute conviction, “The nearness of the Lord is my good” (Psalm 73:28). And “whom have I in heaven but Thee and there is nothing on the earth that I desire but Thee” (Psalm 73:25). “Your lovingkindness is better than life” (Psalm 63:3).  The Lord works everything out for our good, but even if our circumstances remain unchanged, He is still working through the status quo to give us the BEST thing: the joy of knowing Him.

Something to take just a moment to consider today.
