Just a Moment with Pastor Dan Baty

In our fast-paced, complex world, life can feel like a never-ending juggling act. From balancing work and family commitments to managing financial pressures and staying glued to our gadgets, it seems like we’re always on the go. Throw in those pesky irritants like traffic jams and things breaking down, and it’s no wonder we often feel overwhelmed. But here’s a secret—there’s liberating wisdom in keeping things simple. Embracing simplicity allows us to zero in on what truly matters and connect more deeply with God.

Many scriptures encourage us to live simply. Jesus taught us not to worry about tomorrow by highlighting God’s care for the birds of the air and the flowers of the field. He also modeled it by prioritizing love and service over rituals and traditions. By following His lead, we can ditch unnecessary obstructions and find clearer paths to essentials like attunement to God, love for others, and finding joy in our daily lives.

This focus will not magically prevent uninvited challenges from entering our lives, but it will make us far more gracious and composed hosts despite the extra company.

Something to take just a moment to consider today.
