As I pen my final meditation post for this year, I want to leave you with what I consider the most crucial thought for “just a moment to consider today.” This truth encapsulates all the reflections I’ve shared throughout the year: The very best way we can spread the love of God to a desperately needy world is by consistently absorbing it for ourselves.
Understanding how deeply we are loved by God fills us with abundant life, provides the proper motive for Christian living, and generates the mental, emotional, and spiritual energy we need to love others. His love is the lubricant that makes all the gears of life run more smoothly and efficiently.
Why not use this Christmas season, when God gave the greatest love gift of all, to freshly invite Him into your inner place—whatever that may be—and allow Him to tutor you “to comprehend the length and width and height and depth of the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:18-19).
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
