You’ve moved to a new city for a fresh start after overcoming a challenging period in your life. You’ve built new friendships, established a fulfilling routine, and feel more at peace. Yet, occasionally, you receive forwarded mail that brings with it unresolved issues from your former residence. Receiving this mail doesn’t mean you haven’t moved to a new place. It just means that remnants of your past still find their way into your present.
In the same way, as we are being renewed day by day in Christ, we will receive “mail” from our old address. This mail can manifest as old habits, attitudes, or lingering emotions. It doesn’t mean you haven’t moved spiritually; it just means growth is an ongoing process. You have moved in with Christ, and His transformative work is continuous. Don’t let old mail define your progress or make you doubt your journey. Instead, be confident of this: “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
