Just a Moment with Pastor Dan Baty

Many people think of God as only listening, responding, and answering prayers. But what if we’ve overlooked a fundamental truth: God has a life, too?

When we consider God’s existence beyond just answering prayers, a breathtaking truth unfolds: He is deeply creative, infinitely intelligent, and astonishingly personal. The One who designed galaxies is also the One who enjoys sharing His thoughts and plans with us. What an incredible invitation: to not just believe in Him, but to know Him.

God isn’t merely watching human activity; He is living His divine life. And just as He engages in our lives, He invites us to engage in His. To seek His thoughts, share His burdens, and take part in what He is doing. Just as we want to seek and include Him in our plans, He wants to include us in His plans. Just as we want His help, He wants ours – though He is fully capable without it. Fellowship with Him isn’t just about receiving; it’s about walking alongside Him.

As Jesus, mindful of this truth, so aptly put it: “My Father is always at His work to this very day, and I too am working” (John 5:17). The abundant life Jesus promised is not just about us; it’s about our shared life with Him.

Something to take just a moment to consider today.
