Maybe you’ve been judged by your appearance, your voice, or your résumé. But let’s take it a step farther… what if everything *they* say about you is true… and God still chose you?
What if He wanted you? Regardless. What if you didn’t have to earn His approval? And what if you never had to worry about losing it? Ever. What if He just loved *you?* No strings. No conditions.
That is exactly where you stand in Christ today.
So, if you have been targeted by others’ opinions, labeled or dismissed, you’re not alone. They said of Paul that his presence was unimpressive and his speech contemptible. David wasn’t even invited to the tryouts. And Jesus? He was the stone the builders rejected. History is filled with other examples. But none of those assessments stopped God from choosing them.
It’s a snare to place your confidence in beauty, brawn or brilliance. They may feel solid, but those things won’t stay. Financial security cannot secure your life. All those things can be taken from you. Or you can be taken from them.
The confidence God gives is rooted in something deeper. In Someone eternal. In a love that holds fast, even when everything else slips away. You don’t have to prove anything. You don’t have to cling to what’s fading. Because you are held by what lasts.
Nothing can separate you from that treasure.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
