I once lived as though my task as a believer was to do things for God, with Him somewhere out in the seats watching my performance. But He’s no spectator; He’s a partner. And the invitation is the same for every believer: to do everything with Him – shoulder to shoulder, heart to heart – letting Him share the whole of life. Not striving to climb to a better spiritual place, but welcoming Him into the one you’re actually in. He is with you in the dressing room and on the stage, crafting the preparation, sharing the moment, and staying with you long after the lights fade.
And in the quiet, you can almost hear His ancient question still lingering in the air: Who will set their heart to draw near? (Jer. 30:21). Intimacy with us has always been His heart.
