There isn’t a moment of our lives when the Lord is not affectionately and faithfully caring for us. Quite often our greatest benefit rests not in getting “more,” but in greater awareness of the blessings that presently surround us. Blessings such as spiritual perspectives that bring us joy and hope. Physical pleasures and creature comforts. Beauty in nature, art or music that captivates and elevates our spirits. Loving and supportive people who bring us comfort, wisdom or laughter. And most of all His eternal companionship and presence within us.
There will always be more to want. There will always be something to fix or figure out. There will always be “something else.” But at this very moment, our lives are crammed with gifts of God’s grace, goodness and glory. As we launch our weekend pursuits, may God bless us with genuine and unforced awareness of what is already ours.
