How can we strengthen our faith in God through prayer?
Ask lavishly. Sometimes unbelief and fear masquerade as “contentment.” Don’t be afraid of making big requests of the Lord. Be honest about what you want. God will not give you a stone for asking for bread.
Trust implicitly. Rely on His good intentions towards you, His knowledge of you and the superiority of His purposes for you. He’s much smarter than us. “I want to trust in You, Lord, for my well-being and happiness more than I trust in my request.”
Accept with gratitude. Whatever He gives, whatever He withholds, whatever He changes, whatever remains, give Him thanks. He is giving you – right now – the very best deal for the present time. Why wouldn’t He? (“He who did not spare His own Son… how will He not also with Him freely give us all things” Romans 8:32)
