“Jesus declared, …a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. … a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4:21-24).
Jesus was not pronouncing as obsolete the gathering of His people, on the contrary, we desperately need each other. Instead, Jesus was declaring that the place is no longer a requirement to worship God. When we gather corporately or when we spend time with Him alone, our worship is now defined by the interaction of our spirit with His Spirit, not just by our physical presence at a specific location or in an edifice.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
