Jesus based His claim to be the Savior of the world on one primary authenticator: His resurrection from the dead. Therefore, the essential question of any discussion about the validity of His claim must be, “Did He or did He not rise from the dead?”
While there are many who follow the teachings of religious leaders long dead, the difference with Jesus is His followers – whether they lived during His earthly lifetime or during any of the 21 centuries after – speak of Him as though He is still alive. They don’t say “I knew Jesus” or “I read about Jesus;” they say, “I know Jesus.”
The most important consideration when evaluating whether one should put his or her faith in Christ is not the moral lessons Jesus taught 2,000 years ago, but whether or not He is alive in 2021. Jesus said, “I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive for ever and ever!” (Revelation 1:18). That is what distinguishes Him from other holy men, prophets, seers, and shamans, and I am one who is part of that ever-growing multitude who declare with delight, “Yes! I too know Jesus.”
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
