Just a Moment with Pastor Dan Baty

October 8, 2021 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

God became a man, but He is most definitely NOT a human. He doesn’t think like one or act like one. His reasoning is different. His love is different. His justice is different. Thus, though He can be known, He cannot be “figured out.”

He is often surprising but never random. He is majestic but not flamboyant. He is humorous but not frivolous. We cannot always predict what He’ll do but we can always trust what He does. And there is much wisdom in the old saying, “He may not come when you want Him to but He’s always right on time.” His “calendar” is eternity, ours is twelve months.

Though we often misunderstand Him, He never misunderstands us. What we perceive as “disconnects” or “delays” is often due to either forgetting or resisting His explanation: “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9).

His ways are not just higher, they are infinitely better, and what a difference it would make in our daily lives if we could believe it.

Something to take just a moment to consider today.
