What we believe will always reflect itself in our actions. Even though he is often wrong, we tend to trust the weatherman. If he tells us it may rain, we grab an umbrella. If he says it’s going to be hot, we wear short sleeves.
According to the Scriptures, “Those who know Your name will trust in You, for You, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek You” (Psalm 9:10). Simply stated, to know the Lord is to trust in the Lord.
Abraham knew God, so he trusted Him. Personally. So much so he was willing to obey God and sacrifice his son, Isaac. Not from a place of force but from faith.
Instead of working harder to change our behavior, let us work smarter by changing our focus. Let us pour our energy into knowing Him and our actions will certainly follow.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
