“I’m 26. And one day when I look back over this notebook, I’ll see the “26” I just wrote and say, ‘Man! I was only 26 then!’”
I wrote those words 39 years ago today. Since that time, I have learned that the movement from God’s truth being a spiritual concept to it becoming a personal conviction, from intellectual agreement with it to the authentic experiential liberation it brings comes from above and is by faith. It does not come from human intelligence or will power. Faith is the currency God has given us here on earth for all heavenly transactions. Not faith in a general “faith,” but faith in the living Christ. He is our Teacher.
The One who was with me at 26, is with me today and will be with me forever. For He has promised us, “Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you” (Isaiah 46:4). It is a personal relationship with Him that makes all the difference in how His truth transforms our lives.
Something to take just a moment to consider today.
