Another high-profile racial situation creating nausea in people of color and right-spirited people of all colors. How do we – as true believers – respond? Where is Jesus in this? Or… is the most relevant question we can ask, “How do we use this as an opportunity to promote Christ?” If Jesus is in fact “The Way,” let’s think of ways we can use this issue to direct people to Him. If Jesus is “The Truth,” let’s think of how to change false narratives about His reason for coming to earth. (And just to be clear, He came for all of us and each of us equally and without favoritism.) If Jesus is the Life, let us prayerfully consider how to gurney a society of dead people to His life-giving touch one person at a time. If the gospel is the power of God, let’s talk about how to detonate it in the massive crowd that has gathered around this latest outbreak of absurd hatred. Let us not treat the gospel as though it is a Sunday morning fantasy about a weak, feckless, “lap dog” Jesus, but as a message about the Lion of Judah, the One who rose from the dead with all power and authority in heaven and earth.
Something to take just a moment to consider.
