“Let not a wise man boast of His wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches…” (Jeremiah 9:23).
I not only lay my wisdom, might and riches at Your feet, Lord, but also any idolatrous thoughts about their value to me and any envy – subtle or overt – of those who possess more of them than me.
“But let him who boasts, boast of this: that he understands and knows Me…” (Jeremiah 9:24).
Instead, I want to embrace with overflowing gratitude the supreme blessing of knowing You, and the access I have to Your incomparable wisdom, might and riches. I trust in You for the perfect disbursement of those divine endowments today, and I reaffirm the truth that Your grace is sufficient for me.
Something to take just a moment to consider whether any of this prayerful aspiration fits in your “place” today.
