Pastor Dan Baty’s Monday Morning Boost
People are discovering that practicing gratitude is great for mental health. It helps reduce depression, improves sleep, and increases happiness. Studies also show that being grateful can boost physical health, strengthen relationships, and even help us live longer.
When we direct our gratitude to God, it takes on even deeper meaning. We recognize that the good things in our lives come from Someone who loves us and cares for us. It’s not just about being lucky; it’s about being blessed. This reminds us that we are part of a larger, loving plan. This kind of gratitude, rooted in the knowledge of God’s love for us, can be life transforming.
For example, instead of just feeling lucky to have supportive friends, you feel deeply loved by God for placing those friends in your life. This makes your gratitude even more powerful and meaningful. Thus, we are instructed, “O, Give thanks unto the Lord” (Psalm 105:1).
