More Than A Feeling

April 20, 2015 By Dan Baty Leave a Comment

The period between Jesus’ death on Friday and Sunday morning, was a crisis point for mankind and for all of creation.  Like the biggest play of the game in sports, when victory or defeat hinges on the outcome.  Or the moment in the movie when love is either lost or gained.  Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15 that if Jesus had not risen from the dead, our faith is futile, we’re still in our sins. Creations longing for rebirth would have died in the womb.  But when He did!  Had all Creation had tongues, the cheers when He arose from the grave would have been deafening.  Our faith is rooted in more than religious feelings.  It is anchored in that pivotal point in history when Jesus “was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead…” (Romans 1:4).
